Who controls the world?

Last night was Exec meeting which finished earlier than usual......reports on empty homes - already lots of work being done - however it seems little more can be done at District level to bring more back into use...there were also various financial reports plus a report on the tender for Stratford park maintenance....but in this blog I wanted to highlight this interesting TEDx film which I came across recently....it is worth a look - to answer the question, “Who controls the world?” the study looked at ownership networks, breaking it down to nodes (such as firms, people, governments, foundations), links (the percentage of ownership) and value. Overall, the study looked at an astonishing 13 million ownership relations, 43,000 transnational corporations, 600,000 nodes and 1 million links - you can watch the film but more info also here.
