Stroud Valleys Project have just released their latest list of events - you can see them here. Here are two to give you a flavour:
Seed Swap - they are having a seed swap at their Eco Shop, Threadneedle Street, Stroud Saturday 5th March, 2 – 3pm. they write: "Start your gardening year with SVP’s very first seed swap! Bring along any seeds that you have saved from your garden, or any packets of seeds that you have spare, and swap them for some different varieties. A great way to meet other gardeners, share advice and knowledge. Free event, donations appreciated. For more information contact Clare Mahdiyone at SVP, 01453 753358."
Newt Pond survey - I went to this a couple of years ago - see here - well thsi year it is on Friday 29th April, 7.30pm - 9pm & Saturday 30th 7am- 8.30am. They write: "We are monitoring the Great-crested Newt population that lives in this pond near the Stonehouse Court Hotel. It had one of the biggest populations in the SW of Eng- land before a big housing estate was built around it. We’ve been monitoring the pond every year to check if this is having any effect on these rare newts. We will be putting newt-friendly traps into the pond on Friday evening and then emptying them on Saturday morning. No toilets or refreshments. Unsuitable for wheelchairs, prams or people with mobility problems. Wear wellies and outdoor gear, and bring a torch for the evening session. To book your place contact Ivi Svabooza on 01453 753358 or 07876 050878. Cost: £3/adult, £2/child, or £2/adult, £1/child for SVP Friends."
