Last Monday Randwick's own Field Bar Wine won the Cotswold Life Award for Newcomer of The Year.
Alice and Matt attended the Food & Drink awards at Cheltenham racecourse - overjoyed at receiving and leaving with a nomination - winning was a total surprise to them! They tell me that they enjoyed a fantastic 3 course dinner from locally sourced produce, and met many wonderful people. They had their photos taken receiving the award, and these will be featured in Cotswold Life next month. They say that the shock on their faces will be more than prominent!!
They have been trading in and around Stroud for the past 8 months at the award winning Farmers Markets and festivals. The Cotswold Life Award winners are not officially announced until the end of the month,
I reckon local folk can be right chuffed to see this tiny cottage industry can compete with the supermarket giants! Well done indeed to them.
They hope to arrange another evening at the pub sometime - see the last one here - to celebrate and launch some more wines!! See more on their website: www.fieldbarwine.co.uk
Other local winners include The Kitchen in Minch - well deserved Tea Shop of the Year - great cakes and coffee, Stroud Framers Market got best market and Lee Scott at the Painswick Cotswolds 88 Hotel won best chef.
