Whiteshill and Ruscombe Snow Warden report

Here is the report just in from Gerri Kimber, the Parish Snow Warden below.

Photos: Snow pics today including Randwick School which like others closed early today

"This is just to let you know that I have been contacted by Glos Council re the weather situation, in my capacity as snow warden. Basically the situation is this. The snow is due to stop at 4pm. It will then recommence at around 9pm and carry on all night. Our villages are effectively cut off now. They know we don’t have a snow plough, but can’t ‘promise’ anything. Ditto re gritting. I guess we just have to wait our turn.......Please keep a look out for the elderly and vulnerable obviously."

Last time Highways asked the snow warden for Pitchcombe to snow plough Whiteshill - hopefully the same will happen again this time but it may not.

I know for many the conditions are causing lots of problems - Randwick School closed early and I picked up kids there - took ages to get home as had to make snow man, throw snow balls, skate and do many things that health and safety would not approve....indeed must go out again now....also saw five deer race across the snow - wonderful stuff.

It all looks so wonderful and love the quiet - tonight both the Copenhagen coffee house discussion is on and the wood fuel project in Randwick - meet in Vine Tree at 7.30.
