Well done to campaigners and Pitchcombe Parish Council for calling on greater safety along the A40 and A4173. They are pressing Gloucestershire County Council to cut the speed limit from 50mph to 40mph.
Nearby Painswick and Edge have lower limits - as the Parish have said it is nonsense for traffic to be allowed to speed up through Pitchcombe before being slowed to 40mph and then 30mph when they reached Stroud. The Parish website has an excellent report justifying their calls - see
