Charles Secret in Newent on 2nd May

Transition Newent have a date for your diary....this is what they write:

Let’s Build a Better World - Crisis, Change and Opportunity....Charles Secrett, our speaker, is the world renowned ex Director of Friends of the Earth and leading light in the environmental movement.  Charles has said,  “The world is teetering.  Climate change is worse that the scientists thought.  Business and politics as usual are failing badly. But we must not despair.  We have all the solutions – technical, financial, community, enterprise, lifestyle, invention, policy – that we need to set things right.  The challenge is to mainstream them, embed them, and multiply them.  That can be done by citizens and communities acting together, and transforming markets and government, so that they put the needs of all people and nature first and foremost.  Come along and let’s debate how!”

The evening, sponsored by Transition Newent, is be held in the main hall of Newent Community School, Watery Lane, Newent, Glos, GL18 1QF on Thursday 2nd May, 7.30 to 9.30pm.  Refreshments will be provided. We do hope you will be able to join us.  It would be helpful in planning the evening, if you could indicate the likely number in your party. Please email: ann(at)transitionnewent.org.uk
