This Saturday from 10am at the old Riffs music shop in Threadneedle Street there will be a celebration of all things Transition Stroud. There will be
stalls for Stroud Pound, Food Co, Stroud Community Agriculture, Skills
Group, Transport Group, Heart and Soul Group, Storytelling,
Refreshments, entertainment. The Textile Group has the complete
upstairs where they will have demonstrations of spinning, pegloom weaving,
knitting, crochet, sewing etc and people will be able to have a try at a
new skill.
I had the great honour of being asked to open the event but have sadly declined due to another possible commitment but I will be there for part of the time. It does look like being a good time - and a great way to find out about Transition.
There will also be a special offer available at the Fest - Stroudco Food Hub is Stroud’s only not-for-profit social enterprise providing a wide range of local produce at affordable prices. Membership of Stroudco has grown a lot recently, but as a not-for-profit social enterprise we need more people to actively shop with us to be viable. Making that first order can seem like a chore but once you're up and running it's much quicker and easier than trawling round the shops. So if you've not made an order before, take the time to get your order in between Thursday 24th and at the latest by the end of Weds 30th and give it a try. You'll be part of something special. You can arrange to have your order delivered to the Stroudco stall at the Winterfest free of charge. Just go to www.stroudco.org.uk or call 01453 840037 if you would like help making your first order.
