240 churches will be on sale in Gloucester Cathedral this April including the local Parishes. Retired chartered surveyor Alec Brown is reported in the local papers to have travelled the length and breadth of Gloucestershire to produce watercolours of more than half of the county's places of worship.

Nearly all of Alec's work has been turned into prints, postcards and Christmas cards, and sold to raise money for Gloucester Cathedral and the children's charity The James Hopkins Trust, but this entire collection of churches has never been displayed publicly before. Now, just over a year after Alec's death, his daughter, the Rev Helen Sammon, is organising an exhibition and sale of her father's work in the cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral from April 5 to 12.
