Concern re sub-station in Whiteshill

This sub-station in Whiteshill is not safe as the photo clearly indicates. The 4-6weeks given as the time before permanent repairs can be undertsaken is unacceptable. Parish councillor Steve Tomkins has been on the case and the Whiteshill and Ruscommbe Parish Clerk has now written to Central Networks urging repair as a matter of urgency.

The gates are now fixed back in place, and preventing access to the substation. There is further work to be done, which Central Networks are obtaining quotes.

Well the sign on the wood clearly states that the transformer has been isolated as the sign says " Caution, Point of Isolation, Do Not Touch" so it sounds like it has been isolated. Central Networks would not leave a substation that was live with 11,000 volts open and exposed like the picture shows.

If there is a white piece of plastic on the gate with a name and number on it, could you please tell me what it is so i can get the plans for it?

Yes situation remedied last year - not sure on the level of danger it was when it was open? They do normally have protection of walls and sturdy gate? It was sorted much quicker due to action by Parish but there were concerns that animals, children or vandals might increase the dangers? Indeed there have been several fires started in the past locally - but was this really dangerous with the gate down?

Not sure what white plastic and plans you are referring to?
